Azle Computer Services is owned and operated by Mark Faris who is a certified
PC technician and network specialist. Certified by Microsoft as a professional, and holding an A+ Certification* (read about A+ Certifications at the bottom of this page), Mark
has his Associates in Applied Science in Computer Science and is currently finishing up
his Bachelors of Science in Information Technology (BSIT). At the time of this writing Mark has 117 semester hours towards his Bachelor's of Science in Information Technology degree.
While balancing work, family and college, Mark will attain his BSIT degree in 2007 and plans to continue his education to earn his Masters degree.
Having worked as an IT Manager for 6 years, Mark and his associates bring a level of
expertise and experience to small businesses and homes that is unparalleled. Having worked in the corporate IT world,
and being in his Senior year, last semester of college, Mark has met many IT Professionals who are experts in specific
fields. As an IT Manager, Mark's expertise is in the knowledge and skills of all areas of IT, including computer hardware technology,
software and operating systems, Network Operating Systems, Oracle/SQL Server Databse and SQL for database, programming and software development,
network design and implementation, system security, network administration, database design, and so much more. His experience also
includes managment of the IT department, its systems and employees.
Mark has many contacts and friends in the IT field. While one might specialize in web design, the next might be an expert
at software development. Neither could do the other's job, or Mark's job, for that matter. Consider Mark the General Surgeon and
his associates the specialists, like the cancer surgeon, the bone (orthopedic) surgeon, etc. If your issue is general in nature, Mark
will usually handle it. If you want a single, specific project completed with a high degree of expertise, such as a website to rival CNN.com or other
large, commercial sites, then Mark would pass this on to one of his fully qualified associates. That associate would work under
Mark's management to provide the client with the ultimate solution.
While 90% of our business is handled by Mark himself, we do occasionally receive specialized requests from companies where
a high-end solution is needed at a reasonable rate, which is where the specialized associates come in.
* A+ Certification- Anyone can go to college, get a degree, and call themselves a computer expert. Colleges are
graduating thousands of IT students who are book smart, but who are totally lost when it comes to doing the work. When I left my
corporate job 2 years ago, they hired a college graduate to replace me. Within 2 weeks he had accidentally wiped out
all the data from the corporate database. After struggling for days, they finally broke down and called me. I was able to restore the data.
This is the difference between education alone and education with experience. The A+ Certification requires you to have experience and be able
to past 2 grueling tests; 1 on operating systems (installing, repairing, debugging, configuring, optimizing, troubleshooting, etc.), and the other
on computer hardware (parts, designs, building computers from scratch, troubleshooting, identifying parts, creating disc arrays with multiple hard drives, etc).
When your computer/network technician is A+ certified, you know that he/she truly knows their business and is not simply "guessing" at what they are doing.
